The pencil is quaint and quirky and has become my go-to. I wouldn't say it's extravagant but it's got character and it feels good to write with. I read another review where someone saying that if you took it apart it slides out and will probably land on the floor. You know what don't unscrew the tip off of it unless you absolutely have to. As far as any other thing that you're going to take off of it, you're going to remove the eraser cap to erase with and you're going to take the eraser out to either replace it or refill the lid. Beyond that, don't take it apart. There's no reason to the seller was prompt, knowledgeable and they even gave me this neat little sticker to go along with it. So is it worth it? Yeah I would think so. It's become. As I said my go-to for drawing and since I draw a lot all the time it's definitely getting its usage and my son likes it too
