Got this a few days ago and I am LOVING it.
Super cute design and color, and it just feels good to hold? It's got a little weight to it but it isn't heavy like some mechanical pencils I've used, but it still feels firm and not at all flimsy. A really great balance for me.
The rotating lead mechanism is a game changer and the fact that this model let's you switch it on and off with a click is great. I use my pencils for art so having a sharp lead is good most of the time, but being able to get that flat edge when I want it is really important. I was able to do this with my non-switch kuru toga ks without too much of a problem but it took a bit more effort. With the ability to switch the mechanism on and off this pencils becomes perfect.
I was also minorly concerned about the gel grip collecting dust in my bag, but so far that hasn't been an issue at all. The general durability and longevity of the pencil is something that I can't comment on yet, but so far it's performance and the quality of the build has me very optimistic.
The only downsides are that the eraser, while it functions very very well, is quite small and runs out quick. I find myself going through refills on the kuru togas faster than on other pencils. This is not a major downside by any stretch but I felt like it was worth mentioning; I recommend getting an eraser refill pack when you buy this pencil, especially if you are doing art or something that has you erasing frequently.
Finally, this colorway looks SO GOOD. I just have to rave about it. The soft pastel pink is so cute, it complements the gel grip design and makes me happy to look at while I'm using it. I almost bought one of the standard colors while these ones were out of stock, and I am so so glad I waited. I have it matched with a red lead for sketching, and it fits so perfectly, chef's kiss.
Over all, I would absolutely recommend this to people who like mechanical pencils and are willing to spend a bit more to get a really good one. If you are looking for one that will serve you well, has a premium feel and rotates the lead to keep sharp, this OR the standard color version (more blacks and darker colors) is what you are looking for.
Love the pencil and the colour! It’s absolutely amazing.
